AS Jelah and Inžinjering 1 Donate a Warm Table for Newborns to Tešanj General Hospital
Demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility and community care, Armin Hrvić, director of AS Jelah, and his wife Merita Hrvić, executive director of Inžinjering 1, donated a warm table for newborns worth 40,950 KM to Tešanj General Hospital.
A warm table is a crucial piece of equipment in maternity hospitals, ensuring that newborns spend their first moments in a warm and safe environment, similar to the one they experienced in the womb. It is especially important in complicated births, providing immediate care and stabilization
“The donation of a warm table for newborns reflects our commitment to the community and our care for the youngest members of society. We understand how critical the postnatal period is for both mothers and babies, and we wanted to support them by providing equipment that allows them to focus on their health and well-being,” stated Armin and Merita Hrvić.
The director of Tešanj General Hospital expressed deep gratitude for this generous donation, noting that their existing warm table only met basic needs. This newly donated model is the first of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We are extremely grateful that domestic companies like AS Jelah and Inžinjering 1, which uphold socially responsible business practices, recognized one of the challenges we face and, through their generosity, provided greater comfort to future mothers and newborns. This is truly a valuable donation that indirectly supports birth rates, as factors like comfort and safety play a crucial role for women giving birth,” said Omer Bedak, director of Tešanj General Hospital.
The warm (resuscitation) table helps newborns adapt to the external environment immediately after birth. It is an essential piece of medical equipment in all modern maternity hospitals, making childbirth safer and more efficient. “A modern device like this allows us to provide optimal care for life-threatening newborns after high-risk births and significantly improves the quality of medical services for mothers in the four municipalities—Tešanj, Doboj Jug, Usora, and Maglaj—that rely on Tešanj General Hospital’s maternity ward. This area serves approximately 100,000 residents, with up to 650 births occurring at our hospital annually. On behalf of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, I sincerely thank the donors for recognizing our needs and supporting us with this invaluable contribution,” said Larisa Mešić Đogić, head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at Tešanj General Hospital.
